Before I retired I didn't have much time to pursue any painting in depth but there was an ember smoldering.    Since my father was talented, I thought the genes might be "in my blood".   After trying watercolor, I was hooked.  Watching the flow of pigment on wet paper is satisfying to me.   I take classes and strive to take a "more loose" approach to my work.

I make art because I HAVE TO!  I can't stop.  Growing up with my twin sister, our family didn't have much money to buy toys, so we improvised.  We threw away the instructions from our Tinkertoy and Erector sets and created our own constructions.  We would also throw away the clothes that came with paper dolls and create our own clothes.  This type of creativity later morphed through decades into crocheting, weaving, quilting, fabric art, collage, digital art with Photoshop, jewelry, and recently wood carving.  Today, I am more excited than ever to learn new techniques and MAKE MORE ART!

Earl Duck

I began as a self-taught artist in 1992 and later studied for many years under a nationally renowned art instructor, Robert Warren.  I love painting because the creative time has a calming and therapeutic effect on me.  I feel privileged to paint because the subjects become more elusive as the work progresses, which cause me to enjoy beauty that might be overlooked in a casual glance.

Susan Kamps

Growing up, I didn't think I was an artist. I started working in fabric over 45 years ago and discovered that I did love creating.   Traditional quilts quickly became boring and I started experimenting in fabric, discovering I could enjoy creating art quilts as long as I learned composition and color.  Though I've "played" in many other mediums, I keep going back to fabric.  My favorite recent pieces have been created with hand-dyed fabrics with attention paid to the effects of imagined light in the piece.  It's so much fun to see each piece come together and take on a life of its own.

Art is identity.  Art is a challenge.  Art is essential.  I had a passion for clay all my life.  I studied at Cranbrook Academy, and at Denison University.  When I started my career as an actor, then I let pottery go.  After Sept 11, living by the World Trade Towers, I needed to find a way to center myself.  I went back to my pottery and within a year I was teaching.  I taught in NYC at Union Square Ceramics; La Mano Potter; the Educational Arts Alliance; Mud Seat and Tears; 1589.  My ceramics have been on stage at MTC, in a commercial for PAM, the Catholic Network cooking show.  I have shown in NY galleries and in studios I taught for. In Ohio, I taught at The Works, Granville School for the Arts, and privately.

Chuck Borsari

Chuck Borsari

Chuck Borsari has been a working Stained Glass artist for the past 45 years.  During this period, he has designed and created thousands of windows. He has won many awards for his work, and windows Chuck made have been featured in half a dozen "Parade of Homes" in the Columbus area.  Every TV station in Columbus and dozens of newspapers and magazines throughout Ohio and the nation have written feature stories about Chuck.  His work is in hundreds of fine homes and businesses stretching from Central Ohio to Florida, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  For most of his career, Chuck also operated a Stained Glass retail outlet in a restored 1904 barn in Morgan County.  Chuck Borsari is now retired and lives in Pataskala.

Alice Turner

The term "artist" is very subjective in its interpretation.  Being creative with lots of color and a variet of one of a kind components, well describes my attempt at the world of art.  The pursuit of perfection is never my goal.  The Joy of bringing a project to life is my utter and complete focus.

Imagination is priceless. It has the power to allow the human race to achieve amazing heights. It also has the power to keep us forever young. It is what drives me to create and develop my work. My art is a reflection of my imagination using various media and subject matter. I work from real life and I also create my own characters. Transferring my imagination to canvas is a rewarding challenge and one that deserves pursuing. It is my purpose in life to bring happiness to the world and appeal to everyone's inner child.

Jurgen Pape

Art was part of my landscape architecture studies and has stayed with me. My more comprehensive emphasis was on my “refleXion” photos which capture ephemeral window pane reflections in rigid architecture creating a fourth dimension when viewing buildings.
